Take a look below to find details on the selection of Hereford Bulls currently “For Sale”. These are available through Private Treaty Sale from our Postville, Iowa location. More animals become available with each season, as we have both Spring & Fall Calving crops. Whether you are looking for Registered Herefords to build your herd, or if you want good Hereford blood for crossing in a black or other commercial herd, we have options for each! Let us know what you have and what you are “looking for” and we will see what we may have to help you best. If your priority is to find low birth weights and calving ease, we have bulls with low actual birth weights and EPD's. If your focus is finding high growth, frame and the ability to put on pounds of meat, we also have cattle that will meet that need. While our cow herd has a history of horned bloodlines, we have been focusing on polled bloodlines the past several years and now use polled sires only. We use a combination of A.I. and herd sires that we have purchased or raised to offer a variety of strong bloodline options for new - and our many repeat customers.
Demand for good Hereford genetics continues to be strong and many people like to shop early for best selection. We offer an "early reservation” option. For a down payment, you can lock in your choice(s) early, and we will feed until needed and ready to take possession. Give us a call, or come by to look at them if you are within driving distance. Call Marilyn at 319-269-3146 with any questions, for specific pricing, or to discuss what you are looking for.
We are proud to offer our deepest set ever of 2023 Fall born Bulls. They can be reserved, beginning now, for the Fall-Winter 2024 breeding season or the 2025 breeding seasons. Our Spring 2024 set of Bulls is also very impressive with a versatile set of traits. Check out the 'Bull Comparison & Stats Sheet' (above) to view and compare the entire set of Bulls. As always, we offer early reservations so that you can lock in your choice(s), while we continue to feed and develop the Bulls until Fall-2024 or Summer-2025 breeding seasons. We invite and encourage you to visit and see the Bulls, and in many cases their Dams and sires (except for A.I. sired animals) on site. Call Marilyn at 319-269-3146 for ANY questions, pricing, or to set up a time to come visit.
Lenth Herefords offers a variety of females for sale throughout the year. Below, you will find details on the Show and Replacement Heifers, Bred Heifers, and any Bred Hereford Cows currently “For Sale”. These are available through Private Treaty Sale from our Postville, Iowa location. More animals become available with each season and at various times depending on inventory levels. We offer Registered Herefords that can be used as a foundation or to build upon a registered herd, prospects for 4-H and shows that move on to be herd-building females, as well as females that could be crossed with angus or other bulls in a strong commercial based herd. Our females come from a strong female-building herd that includes a number of Dams of Distinction (DOD), the highest recognition for a Hereford cow from the American Hereford Association. Besides several active DOD's, we have many more daughters and grand-daughters of DOD's in the herd. We also occasionally offer females from strong cooperator herds, most of which trace back to Lenth bloodlines, in order to offer an even bigger selection.
Each year the demand for Lenth Hereford females has been very strong. Many repeat customers shop very early, even putting in 'orders' for females in specific bloodlines. We offer an "early reservation” option, to allow anyone to select early, if desired. We also offer a 3-tier pricing scale: 1) Priced for possession soon after weaning; 2) Priced for possession after weaning but before breeding; 3) Priced as a Bred Heifer with us holding, developing, and breeding (according to purchaser's requests) for calving the following season, after passing a preg check. Give us a call, or come by to look at what we have to offer. Call Marilyn at 319-269-3146 with any questions, for specific pricing, or to discuss what you are looking for.
We are once again taking early reservations for our Heifer calves, now offering our 2024 Heifer calves for possession after weaning OR to be left here and bred in 2025, with possession after passing a preg check as Bred Heifers. Call Marilyn at 319-269-3146 for ANY questions, pricing, or to set up a time to come view them.

Any agreements are made between the 'Sellers' and 'Buyers' directly. If you are 'shopping' - Contact details are provided for each animal for pricing or to request more information. Spring Bred Heifer: This yearling heifer is deep, dark cherry red, goggle eyed, deep bodied, and shaping up to be a great cow, just like the generations of females she comes from. Sired by a Lenth owned Rausch sire, her dam also comes from the Lenth herd, and she can be counted on to add color, growth, udder quality, and productivity to some herd. She was showed at the Clayton County Fair, earning Reserve Champion Hereford heifer. Bred to HCH Charleston 226L, called 60 days preg on July 25th. Est due early March-2025.

Here is an aged bull ready-to-use on a large group of females in 2025. With an 80 lb. actual BW, he could be used on a mixed group of heifers AND cows, but he could cover a lot of black or colored females. He's a virgin 2-1/2 yr-old, so rest assured that you wouldn't be at risk of bringing in a 'used' bull. Look at his mass and muscle! He's sure to sire good gaining calves, and females could be retained with confidence. Purebred, but currently not registered.

Here is a deep-ribbed, big bodied, big hipped polled bull that is ready for heavy service. A.I. sired by Expedition 619G who has super high CEZ and growth EPD's, really low BW, and excellent udder scores. His dam is a daughter of one of Lenth's ET Donor cows and A.I. sired by Small Town Kid, so this bull has deeply rooted genetic lines! Unregistered currently, but could be registered for an additional fee.
