Bulls for Sale
Take a look below to find details on the selection of Hereford Bulls currently “For Sale”. These are
available through Private Treaty Sale from our Postville, Iowa location. More animals become available with
each season, as we have both Spring & Fall Calving crops. Whether you are looking for Registered Herefords
to build your herd, or if you want good Hereford blood for crossing in a black or other commercial herd, we
have options for each! Let us know what you have and what you are “looking for” and we will see what we may
have to help you best. If your priority is to find low birth weights and calving ease, we have bulls with
low actual birth weights and EPD's. If your focus is finding high growth, frame and the ability to put on
pounds of meat, we also have cattle that will meet that need. While our cow herd has a history of horned
bloodlines, we have been focusing on polled bloodlines the past several years and now use polled sires only.
We use a combination of A.I. and herd sires that we have purchased or raised to offer a variety of strong
bloodline options for new - and our many repeat customers.
Demand for good Hereford genetics continues to be strong and many people like to shop early for best
selection. We offer an "early reservation” option. For a down payment, you can lock in your choice(s) early,
and we will feed until needed and ready to take possession. Give us a call, or come by to look at them if
you are within driving distance. Call Marilyn at 319-269-3146 with any questions, for specific pricing, or
to discuss what you are looking for.

His EPD’s are in the top 15-30% or better across the board, and he’s dark red, short marked, deep and thick! This goggle-eyed, deep bodied, red-necked boy would be an excellent heifer bull option. He was raised by a beautiful, young cow with a near perfect udder, who comes from one of our deepest Fall calving foundation female lines. He weaned off this 3-yr old with a strong 3.00 WDA. Already DNA tested, he is Homozygous Polled. He would be a great option for a variety of situations, and will surely get selected early!

Another son of our Muskogee 116J sire, this thick-made, deep bodied bull is shaping up a lot like his sire. Both sides of his pedigree are steeped with growth AND top quality maternal traits. This long-bodied bull is almost a ‘spitting image’ of his impressive sire at this age, and that’s a great thing. Already DNA Tested Heterozygous Polled, he is free of all defects, and would be a great choice for a purebred OR commercial herd. Raised by an impressive 2-yr old first-time mom who was A.I. sired by TH Frontier 174E, she’s also a grand-daughter of our Goldrush sire on her Dam’s side. Takoma weaned off with an ADJ205 weight of 723 lbs, WDA of 3.18 lb/day, living up to his growth EPD’s that are in the top 10% of the breed!

His GE Enhanced EPD’s are in top 10% of breed for calving ease AND BW, still with great growth. His Dam is a consistently high producer, daughter of a DOD, and this guy weaned off with our 2nd highest WDA at 3.39 lb/day.

- Polled
- BW: 96
Sire: R ADDITION 7050 (JERRY)
Dam: LH MS JENNI 883F
This goggle-eyed, short marked bull boasted the highest WDA at weaning time, of 3.59 lb/day with an Adj205 of 710 lb. If you’re looking for a high growth bull, to sire fast gaining calves that can pack on the pounds, take a close look here. Suited for mature cows and not heifers due to his actual BW, his EPD’s actually point towards breed average BWs.
AVAILABLE
ROSE MR FOSTER L334
- Reg#: 44521536
- DOB: 9/8/2023
- Polled
- BW: 84
Sire: LH 316A MUSKOGEE 116J
Dam: LH MS FRANNIE 158J
Possibly one of the deepest bodied, biggest boned, easiest fleshing bulls in the group is Foster. Raised by an impressive TH Frontier sired 1st calf momma who is as big ribbed as he is, he has been an eye catcher since birth! His 696 lb. Adj205 weight was over 3 lb./day WDA, also impressive for a 2-yr old mom. He has a super-strong Lenth female background on both sides of his pedigree – retain daughters with confidence! Suited for heifers or cows, he’s sure to be an early selection by some lucky herd. DNA results confirm Homozygous Polled - Free of all defects.
AVAILABLE
ROSE MR AXEL L338
- Reg#: 44521542
- DOB: 9/16/2023
- Polled
- BW: 73
Sire: LH 316A MUSKOGEE 116J
Dam: ROSE MS ANNA J21
Our crop of 2-yr old Dams did a bang-up job this past year, and here’s another result. With a 73 lb. actual BW, his CEZ and BW EPD’s are in top 15% of breed, while his growth EPD’s are also in the top 30% of the breed, for curve-bending EPD’s! He has Lenth DOD’s on both sides of his pedigree, so he’s just one more bull you would be lucky to retain daughters from. Heifer bull supreme – cow ready. He’s more traditionally marked, still with slight pigment on both eyes.
DNA results confirm Homozygous Polled - Free of all defects
AVAILABLE
ROSE MR MILES L339
- Reg#: 44521544
- DOB: 9/16/2023
- Polled
- BW: 90
Sire: R ADDITION 4999 (VERN)
Dam: PEZ 2296 SANDRA 214 (MALIBU)
If your goal is to find a bull to bring growth, frame, and muscle expression, this might be your choice. Miles is sired by our Herd Bull ‘Vern’, with a Dam that is big framed and super deep bodied. Miles is long bodied, traditionally marked, and should sire calves that will grow fast and finish big! Recommended for cows due his actual BW, he’ll be ready for use in Fall 2024 or can be reserved for Summer 2025 breeding.
AVAILABLE
ROSE MR HARLEY L340
- Reg#: 44528214
- DOB: 9/16/2023
- Polled
- BW: 90
Sire: LH 316A MUSKOGEE 116J
Dam: RH QUESO R134
Another of the ‘traditionally marked’ bull in this group is Mr. Harley. His 2-yr old dam is bigger framed with loads of growth in her background, same as his Sire Muskogee 116J. Both sides produce females with excellent udders, the type that are herd builders. His WW and YW EPD’s are in the top 15% of the breed, showing what he can add to the herd that selects him.
SOLD
ROSE MR PAYDAY L342
- Reg#: 44521548
- DOB: 9/20/2023
- Polled
- BW: 60
Sire: R ADDITION 4999 (VERN)
Dam: BB KIT KAT 74G
This well marked bull wasn’t the highest gaining in the group at weaning time, but considering that he is a twin, and his big ribbed momma raised BOTH him and his twin sister, his performance is more impressive. His 60 lb. actual BW could have been affected by being a twin, but his EPD’s still point towards excellent CEZ and low BW, setting him up to be an option for heifers OR cows. Very quiet and docile, he has a disposition that is really nice to work around.
AVAILABLE
ROSE MR MAXWELL L343
- Reg#: 44521557
- DOB: 11/7/2023
- Polled
- BW: 86
Sire: R ADDITION 7050 (JERRY)
Dam: ROSE MS MAGGIE 97G
The youngest bull in the fall crop is this really dark, well pigmented, eye catching guy. He’s coming along really well, and developing as we would expect to see from calves out of his big framed sire, and deep bodied, big ribbed Dam. While his EPD’s are just breed average, he still had a WW WDA of 3.04 lb/day, showing that with his actual performance, he can bring a pile of potential to whichever new herd selects him.
